  • As we all know, Valmiki wrote the Adi Kavya Ramayana with 24,000 Slokas. The best way to understand this epic in one verse is beautifully captured in our ancient and profound scripture, Shrimad Bhagavatam, by Sukhdev Goswami

Translation

To keep the promise of His father intact, Lord Rāmacandra immediately gave up the position of king and, accompanied by His wife, mother Sītā, wandered from one forest to another on His lotus feet, which were so delicate that they were unable to bear even the touch of Sītā’s palms. The Lord was also accompanied by Hanumān [or by another monkey, Sugrīva], king of the monkeys, and by His own younger brother Lord Lakṣmaṇa, both of whom gave Him relief from the fatigue of wandering in the forest. Having cut off the nose and ears of Śūrpaṇakhā, thus disfiguring her, the Lord was separated from mother Sītā. He therefore became angry, moving His eyebrows and thus frightening the ocean, who then allowed the Lord to construct a bridge to cross the ocean. Subsequently, the Lord entered the kingdom of Rāvaṇa to kill him, like a fire devouring a forest. May that Supreme Lord, Rāmacandra, give us all protection.

  • In today’s society, there is a critical need for individuals to embrace the teachings of the Ramayana, surrender to Lord Ram, and lead lives filled with happiness and holism. To achieve this, it is imperative to seek guidance from a genuine and authentic Guru who can impart the wisdom of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna. By diligently chanting the Hare Krishna Maha mantra and studying the teachings of Srila Prabhupada, this transformation is not only possible but also a reality. To embark on this journey and learn the basics of Krishna Consciousness, one can start with the ‘Science Of Self Realisation’.
Srila Prabhupada Chanting Hare Krishna Maha Mantra
  • Rama Rajya was a realm of unparalleled beauty and perfection, where joy was ubiquitous and sorrow unknown. The idyllic description of this utopia is vividly portrayed in the Shrimad Bhagavatam, capturing the essence of a society where every heart was filled with contentment and every soul radiated happiness.

SB 9.10.51: Lord Rāmacandra became King during Tretā-yuga, but because of His good government, the age was like Satya-yuga. Everyone was religious and completely happy.
SB 9.10.52: O Mahārāja Parīkṣit, best of the Bharata dynasty, during the reign of Lord Rāmacandra the forests, the rivers, the hills and mountains, the states, the seven islands and the seven seas were all favorable in supplying the necessities of life for all living beings.
SB 9.10.53: When Lord Rāmacandra, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, was the King of this world, all bodily and mental suffering, disease, old age, bereavement, lamentation, distress, fear and fatigue were completely absent. There was even no death for those who did not want it.

  • Can we truly expect a peaceful ‘Rama Rajya’ in our lives if we don’t place Rama and his teachings at the very center, as our king? Let’s wake up and start living in a peaceful ‘Rama Rajya,’ leading happy lives now and hereafter. Let’s strive to know more about Rama, for that is the path to true peace and salvation!
  • On this auspicious occasion, let’s enhance its auspiciousness by starting to chant the ‘Hare Krishna Maha Mantra,’ which is full of the holy names of Lord Krishna and Rama. As it is said, Lord Rama stays where His holy name is chanted always, and if Rama stays in the kingdom, it will automatically become ‘Rama Rajya.’ Let Rama’s teachings guide us to a peaceful ‘Rama Rajya’ within ourselves, ensuring a joyous life now and forever

Jai Sri Ram🌺
Jai Srila Prabhupada🙏
